Fr. Steve Pugliese, S.J. grew up in Smithtown, Long Island. He went to Fordham University for college. He was a junior officer in the Navy before entering the Society of Jesus, home port Jacksonville, FL. Fr. Steve entered the Society of Jesus in 1983 and was ordained at Fordham in 1993. He spent his first year after ordination at Mt. Manresa retreat house on Staten Island after which he was asked to go to the Jesuit parish St. Ignatius in Brooklyn where he spent seven years. He spent six years as minister to the NY Province Infirmary in the Bronx and three years on the Upper East Side at the St. Ignatius Loyola community. Fr. Steve has been at Loyola since September 2011 and serves as retreat master and spiritual director.
