Daily Reflection Monday of the Sixth Week in Ordinary Time

The Pharisees came and began to argue with him, asking him for a sign from heaven, to test him. And he sighed deeply in his spirit and said, ‘ Why does this generation ask for a sign? Truly I tell you, no sign will be given to this generation.’ And he left them, and getting into the boat again, he went across to the other side.

• Lord, do we make you ‘sigh deeply’? You do everything for us, and still we want more. Firstly, you love us limitlessly. Pope Francis reminds us of this: ‘When everything is said and done, we are infinitely loved’. How about that! Secondly, each of us is a brother or sister for whom you willingly died. Thirdly, you are with us always: everything that is good in our lives comes from you. Finally, you have breathtaking and glorious plans for our future after death.
