Loyola Evening of Prayer – Spiritual Book Club Series – In Search of Belief (Revised Edition) by Joan Chittister
Facilitated by Karen Florance and Thomas Marciniak, SJ
Please join the Loyola Spiritual Book club as we read, explore, and faith share In Search of Belief (Revised Edition), by Joan Chittister. We will meet in person at Loyola.
In her book In Search of Belief (Revised Edition), Joan Chittister breaks open the tenets of the Apostles’ Creed phrase by phrase to go deep into the belief and gives space for us to reflect upon whether we truly live what we say we believe. The Apostles’ Creed is the basis for Catholic baptismal promises which are renewed at Easter. The Apostles’ Creed expresses and makes clear the most important Christian beliefs, including the nature of God. Do we really believe and live the beliefs expressed in the Apostles’ Creed? About the author A Benedictine Sister of Erie, Pennsylvania, Joan Chittister is a best-selling author and well-known international lecturer on topics of justice, peace, human rights, women's issues and contemporary spirituality in the church and in society.
