The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius Loyola are a month-long program of meditations, prayers, considerations, and contemplative practices meant to deepen one's personal relationship with Jesus Christ. They are a way for everyone to seek and find God in their workplaces, homes, families, and community.
The content of the Exercises is centered around four themes: the reality of evil in the world and my part in it; the Life of Jesus; the Passion and Death of Jesus; the Ressurrection and His call to follow in His footsteps and Mission.
Traditionally there are two ways of experiencing the Full Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius: a 30-day full-time retreat; and making the retreat in flow of daily life (19th Annotation retreat, which runs about 9 months). Both can be very profound and life changing experiences according to the needs and generosity of the individual.
Loyola Jesuit Center is offering the Spiritual Exercises in an 8-week format for those who cannot commit to either the 30-day or 9-month traditional format.
This program is virtual, uses a group format, and the people who register are asked to commit to daily prayer of about 30 minutes over the course of the retreat. The suggested offering is $20 per session.
